NMSU Chile Breeding and Genetics Program

Established in 1888 by Dr. Fabian Garcia, the Chile Pepper Breeding and Genetics program at New Mexico State University is considered to be the longest continuously running program for the improvement of chile peppers in the world.

Open to the public seasonally from June – October, 7 days a week, sunrise to sunset.
